BIOGRAPHY
Arne Jacobsen was a Danish architect and designer, renowned for his contribution to architectural functionalism. He is considered to be the pioneer of the “designer hotel”, in relation to a commission for the SAS Royal Hotel, in which he designed every aspect of the space – leading to the standard today for hoteliers to draw on an aesthetic language from a preferred designer today.
Jacobsen was an original and integral proponent for the Scandinavian modernism/minimalism development, owing his style to the use of clean, elegant lines and symmetry.
