BIOGRAPHY
Percival Lafer’s indelible contribution to Brazilian modernism remained little known outside South America until the pivot back to mid-century aestheticism in recent years. He was understood to be innovative, original and fond of scaling his designs to make them accessible to the middle class; a move which democratized Brazilian design in his region.
