BIOGRAPHY

Anna van der Ploeg is a multi-disciplinary artist and printmaker from Cape Town. After the success of her first solo show, Arc and Toll, at SMITH in September 2016, she spent a year travelling and doing Artist-in-Residence Programs in France, India and Japan. These explorations, as well as previous experience at The Artist’s Press in White River, have been formative to her process- based practice and appreciation for different methods of print. Van der Ploeg graduated from the University of Cape Town in 2015 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours). She currently shares a studio space in Paarden Eiland with several other artists and a printmaking press.
