BIOGRAPHY
Born in 1988, Johannesburg, South Africa, currently living and working in Cape Town. Rodan Kart Hart studied BA FA at Wits School of Arts in Johannesburg and Michaelis School of Fine Art (UCT) in Cape Town. He has staged 5 solo exhibitions, Structure (2013), Pattern Language (2013), Forms (S/W) (2014), Photographs (2018) and Borderless (2019), and since 2007 has participated in numerous group and independent exhibitions, including Swatch Faces (2017) at the 57th Venice Biennale, Parallel Play (2018) at A4 Arts Foundation and The Spectacle (2020 - 21) at THEFOURTH. Hart’s sculptures, drawings, and photographs are found in multiple public and private collections throughout South Africa, Europe and Asia. To date he has completed four residencies, at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park in Wakefield, England (2013), at the Swatch Art Peace Hotel in Shanghai, China (2016/17), CProjects (2019) in Rome and Cité Internationale des Arts (2020), Paris, France.
In addition to his visual art practice, Hart has co-founded multiple platforms, including R.Steveson and Gallery Project (2011), BAD PAPER Publishing (2016 - 2019), Apartment Exhibition (2019 -) and THEFOURTH (2020-)
Rodan Kane Hart and Maybe Corpaci are creative directors of Fourth Space Studio and head curators of Fourth Space Foundation.
